Late-night illustrations

January 23, 2014

Zzzz… So sleep-deprived lately. Have been doing lots of doodles.

Instagram Scheduling App… Finally!

January 23, 2014

F I N A L L Y.

Someone has finally made an app for brands (and marketing agencies) to work their magic on Instagram. Say HELLO to ScheduGram. Stupid name aside, the paid app is designed to help brands post at the perfect time for higher levels of engagement through scheduling.

Oddly – since Instagram won’t allow photo uploads using its API – the company uploads pictures through an actual phone in their office. Will be interesting to see if Instagram blocks this, or if it isn’t 100% foolproof.

I have some explaining to do…

January 21, 2014

You’ve probably noticed a massive influx of photography-related blog posts… which is fine except that I am and have been primarily a writer for the past five years. I feel like I should explain before everyone thinks I’ve had a head injury that’s caused me to magically pick up photography but destroyed my ability to string a few words together.

I’m still contracted at Collabforge, working as a Content & Community Manager. My role involves a ton of writing and social media management. A large chunk of my writing for this contract is related to the Federal Government and written anonymously. I don’t feel comfortable posting it here, but hit me up if you’re interested in hiring me as a freelance writer and want to have a peek privately.

Peace.

Photography Portfolio

January 20, 2014

So after agonising over which (ahem, free) photography portfolio website to go for, I’ve decided to just pop a selection of my most current photographs up on here rather than an external site. Check out my my photography portfolio.

P.S. Want me to take some snaps for you? Hit me up here. Keen to do more shoots with musical artists and fashion blogs, but I am easily persuaded if you have something else in mind.

Two Halves @ Edinburgh Gardens

January 20, 2014

One of my favourite places in Melbourne is Edinburgh Gardens – pretty sure I head there about four times a week on average to chill/jog/have picnics with mates. I did a photo shoot for Two Halves there a couple of months ago when the flowers were all in bloom, and it was the most perfect backdrop. Favourite shots below, more snaps on the actual post here.

San Fran

January 16, 2014

So this has pretty much cemented my desire to one day move to San Francisco.

Via this blog.

The Shabbab

January 15, 2014

I took to the streets of Brunswick with Melbourne band The Shabbab late last year for a photoshoot. It was super late afternoon while the sun was setting, so I’m loving the shadows and contrast!

P.S. Show the boys some love here!

Tarmac fun times

January 13, 2014

I have a bad habit of lying on roads when taking photographs. One day I’ll get run over… But in the mean time, I’ll rely on the models to yell wildly every time a vehicle approaches.

Anyway, new shoot up on Two-Halves. This one afforded me many an opportunity to get down on the tarmac. Full post here, but a few snaps below. Enjoy.

Convenient, Accidental Nature Photography

January 6, 2014

I was taking portrait photographs with a friend in Edinburgh Gardens the other day when I heard some birds literally behind my head. I was lucky enough that my camera was already on all the right settings because I’m pretty sure these winged creatures were this close to pecking out my eyes as soon as I took it.

NY Resolutions with Give It 100

January 3, 2014

Stumbled across a particularly interesting concept for keeping New Year’s resolutions on Peta Pixel… It’s called Give It 100, meaning you devote 100 days to doing/practising/pushing yourself that little bit closer to your dream. Didn’t practise? You have to donate $1 for every day you skip to a charity, and you need to upload video footage to prove you’re busy sweating it. Love it.

It’s the brain child of this amazing woman who taught herself to dance by doing it every single day for one year:

P.S. I particularly love this user-uploaded project. Gross fact about me – I bite my cuticles on my fingers when I’m stressed. Maybe I should give this a go…
