If you haven’t heard of the Harlem Shake, you need to read this right now (and probably start reading the news and media blogs more). Anyway, here’s the Get Glossy version:

Facebook Graph Search

February 5, 2013

Facebook changes. And fiddles. And updates. A lot.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed the popular social media network’s habit of shaking things up just when we’ve gotten used to one thing… And while I usually find the first ‘edition’ of its updates, I have to admit that I love graph search straight off the bat.

I signed up to be a beta tester and it is way better than the search tool it replaced. I know there’s been lots of talk of all the creepy things you can do (ahem, finding out which of your married friends like prostitutes) but there are other neat things you can look up.

Like cafes in Melbourne that my Facebook friends like and have visited (with ratings):

Pics that Facebook users have taken near shops on Brunners that my friends have visited (a bit random):

Or videos of Pixies:

* On a side note, I also did searches for friends who had travelled to India so I can pick their brains for travel tips but not publishing them here because I really can’t be bothered photoshopping everything out…

Very low indeed

February 3, 2013

Was looking through a health slideshow on the usually awesome Refinery29 website, when this awful sponsored slide came up. And left a totally bitter taste in my mouth.

At least it had – SPONSORED – written on it, but it seemed completely out of place, underhanded and counter productive to the rest of the article. Take note, advertisers.
