I’ve always been vaguely interested in photography (in a I-like-to-look-at-pretty-pictures kind of way) but have never really used that many SLR cameras. Until now, that is. A very thoughtful person gave me a lovely Nikon D3000 as a present and I’ve been teaching myself (with the help of a few photographer friends, including a former Paper-Deer photography) the basics of photography very slowly. It’s an entry level DSLR and not a professional standard camera but, hey, I’m not a professional photographer. I’ve been practicing product photography on random objects in my home, which is an incredibly nerdy thing to do, and will start taking some happy snaps of my friends’ gigs soon. If you see any Asian girls in Dr. Marten’s wielding a Nikon D3000 in the Melbourne CBD, it might even be me. Hope to upload some really nifty shots later, but here’s one I took at this year’s Moomba Festival.
P.S. Next up on my to-do list, acquire some mad photo editing!
